Stratford Summer Music presents
2022 Highlights

It is with great pleasure that we make our now annual offering to July in January, with this particular video encompassing much of what I personally love about the world of music making – celebrating the talent of our youth, and honoring the years of friendship and sheer perseverance of established artists that have dedicated their lives to the artform.

To start our video offering, the exceptionally talented young cellist Vanny Hu performs movements from J. S. Bach’s Fourth Suite.   The live performance was recorded just days before she departed on her way to New York to begin studies at the world famous Juilliard School on scholarship.   We’re very proud of everything Vanny has accomplished to date, and look forward to welcoming her back onto our stage in the future as she continues to mature and grow as an artist.

Vanny’s performance is followed by the all-engrossing Octet for Strings by Georges Enescu.  If you know the term “barn-burner” as it applies to classical music, this is definitely one of those!  The ensemble is filled with musicians who have dedicated their lives to sharing music at a world-class level.  Many of the eight members have been friends for years – in fact, over 125 years of friendship are represented in this group!!

I hope you enjoy our musical offering, and of course, please come and join us in Stratford in the summer!  July 20th – August 13th….see you in the city where all roads lead to music!
